For the 2023 season, the Kingston Farmers Market has partnered with the O Zone and Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency (UCCRA to be a free weekly compost drop off site. To participate, come to the market (every Saturday 9AM-1PM until November 18th) and find Amelia with the O Zone (blue bus parked near the Persen House lawn). There you can sign up (no fee required-just email and # of people in household) and dump your food scraps. At the end of each market, the O Zone brings the scraps to UCCRA to be composted.

Here are the items accepted in the compost bin. All food and meat is allowed. Please note that paper products, packaging, and bags are NOT accepted.
